Seminars, opportunities and accomplishments
The Center for Hydrologic Innovations organizes campus and external events such as seminars, trainings, and workshops. We celebrate the accomplishments of our faculty, postdoctoral scholars, researchers, and graduate students. Our labs, programs, and solution spaces seek to recruit new students and professionals and the description of opportunities are listed below.
A new publication in the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management (Whitney et al. 2023) describes a stakeholder engagement and scenario modeling approach for assessing the combined effects of forest disturbance and climate change in the Colorado River. Congratulations to authors associated with the Center for Hydrologic Innovations!
Dr. Zhaocheng Wang wins national award
Dr. Zhaocheng Wang, postdoctoral scholar in the Center for Hydrologic Innovations, won the 2023 Paul F. Boulos Excellence in Computational Hydraulics/Hydrology Award from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists for his work on land surface modeling. Zhaocheng aims to improve the understanding of hydrologic processes and advance water sustainability and resilience by combining ground…
Journal of Hydrology publication
A new publication in the Journal of Hydrology (Tyson et al. 2023) combines climate and hydrology modeling with a deep learning model to predict streamflow in complex watershed settings. Congratulations to authors associated with the Center for Hydrologic Innovations!
A new publication in Agricultural and Forest Meteorology (Guan and Mascaro, 2023) explores the implications of climate change on crop production in central Arizona. Congratulations to authors associated with the Center for Hydrologic Innovations!
